Description

The Portland Argus, known as "Maine's 1st Metropolitan Weekly Newspaper," was published in 1960. Independent of Portland's dominant Guy Gannett newspapers, the Argus was produced by Pioneer Publishing Company, of Portland. The weekly publication set out to report about Portland-area news, sports, and entertainment.
