Description

View of Bayside from north on Tukey's Bridge, with Portland skyline at center. The photograph was made prior to the 1908 Portland City Hall fire.
At right is the Portland and Rochester Railroad line, leading to Preble Street Station. One of the sluices built to allow for the flow of water, is visible below the railroad track.

Portland Stove Foundry, two mills, Maine Artificial Stone Company, and a freight office were located along Somerset Street and Kennebec Street.
