Description
Administrators of Congregation Bet Ha'am synagogue, 81 Westbrook Street, South Portland. Top image: Rabbi Paul Cohen. Bottom image: Religious School Director Ms. Orly Biggie.
At the time of the photographs, the congregation of more than 250 families had moved into the former Alice E. Sawyer School, after meeting in several Portland area locations such as the Waynflete School, the Etz Chaim Synagogue, and the former Jewish Home for the Aged (158 North Street).
Bet Ha'am ("The People's House," in Hebrew) built a new extension to the school building in 2009.
