Description
Full exterior views of the Butler Elementary School, 71 Pine Street, as the building was being prepared to become apartment housing. Designed by Portland architect Francis Fassett (notably, the designer of the Rines Brothers Company department store building), Butler School was built in 1879. The school closed in 1972, as the new Reiche School (166 Brackett Street) opened.
