    Description

Exterior views of Carlbert Fabrics warehouse and store, 2 York Street (Gorham's Corner). The building was constructed as a garage, circa1909, and its occupant had previously been Brockway Motor Truck Company. The Carlbert business relocated from its prior location at nearby 476 Fore Street. The business was owned and operated by Bertram Silverman and his wife Evelyn Silverman, until their retirement in 1983.
    Bert's well-known motto was: "Cope, don't mope, there's hope!"
