Description
Full exterior view of the Russell Block, 513-515 Congress Street, from southeast. At Parisienne Shoe Shoppe (515 Congress Street) at left. Stan-Go Liggett Rexall Drugs (513 Congress Street) at right.
Mechanics Hall (519 Congress Street) at left edge of image. The Motley Block building (505-511 Congress Street) at right side of image.
The Russell Block was constructed in 1857, and with the buildings (including the Motley Block) reaching to Brown Street, it was demolished in 1972-1973 to make way for the Maine Savings Bank Plaza (built in 1974).
