Description
Views of Catir's dry goods and clothing stores. The Catir family business began in 1917 with their first store at 249 Congress Street (between Smith Street and Montgomery Street) on Munjoy Hill. The Congress Street store later moved to 231 Congress (east of the first location at the corner of Congress Street and Montgomery Street). A larger store was added near Woodfords Corner, at 683-685 Forest Avenue, eventually succeeding the Congress Street location. Catir's store closed in 1967.
