Description
Full exterior view of McDonald's restaurant, 332 Saint John Street, from southeast. Opened in 1964, as Maine's first McDonald's franchise location, the Saint John Street venue was drive-up style. At the time of this photograph, the McDonald's Corporation was opening an average of five locations worldwide every two weeks. In 1970, the McDonald's near the Maine Mall opened (Gorham Road). Subsequently, the Saint John Street location was rebuilt to accommodate indoor dining.
