Description

Views of the New England Kitchen diner, 419 Congress Street, immediately east of First Parish Church, in the Masonic Building. The restaurant was owned by Madlyn Norris.

Bottom image: Lunch hour friends- all lawyers whose offices were upstairs in the Masonic Building- dining in New England Kitchen. Left to right: Nunzi F. Napolitano, waitress Mabel Mulherin, Hyman Jacobson, and Donald A. Webster. The friends referred to the diner as their "second office." Maine Attorney General Joseph E. Brennan (later, Governor of Maine) was a regular customer. Said attorney Napolitano, "A lot of civil cases get settled at this table."
