Abstract

"City" piece on Save Our Sanctuary, a citizen group in Scarborough that is trying to save the 51-acre abandoned golf course off the Pine Point Road. John Thurlow of S.O.S. calls the land the Scarborough River Wildlife Sanctuary, and says it is a small but complete ecosystem. Scarborough Town Councilor Mike Martin thinks the parcel would be a good site for building some of the playing fields his constituents want for soccer and Little League. the town council is scheduled to reconsider uses for the land next January.
