Abstract

"City" piece on Reiche Community School in Portland. A recent memo from union representatives indicates an educator at Reiche has been accused of improper classroom behavior, but little information is available about the case. Teachers at Reiche have been wearing gold ribbons to protest both the allegations and the work environment at the school. Kathleen Casasa of the teachers union said the union has held meetings with school department officials and Reiche administrators on conditions at Reiche. A Reiche staff member said the union want to get rid of Reiche principal Marguerite MacDonald, who wants changes at the school.
