Abstract

"Dining Down East" piece on Rachel's L'Osteria, a Tuscan restaurant run by husband-and-wife team Laura and Robert Butler in Woodfords Corner. Their first Portland restaurant was Rachel's Wood Grill on Exchange Street. In 2003, they opened their present restaurant, where Laura cooks and Robert acts as server, manager, and sommelier. Both appreciate the chance to interact more closely with customers. In 2001 and 2002, they were awarded Wine Spectator's Award of Excellence for their extensive wine list.
