Abstract
"Letters" piece noting that the failure of the Portland Public Market was due to its proximity to Preble Street, and the individuals who hung out there and intimidated those going to the market. Those same individuals currently blight the Portland Public Library. The plan to split the library by relocating it to the former market building makes no sense.
