Abstract

"Business Maine: Southern" piece on the Compass Project, a Portland-based nonprofit program for at-risk youth that combines boat-building education with an introduction to business skills. Pat Ryan, a social worker and U.S. Coast Guard-certified captain, started the program with John MacDonald, a professional boat builder at the Landing School in Kennebunkport. The Compass Project will have a booth at the Maine Boatbuilders Show in Portland, March 18-20.
