Abstract

Diaexport Inc of Windham has been fined $25,000 for violating federal customs laws by claiming that fetal bovine serum imported from Brazil was human blood -- Fetal bovine serum is used to make drugs and products that require tissue cell cultures, and imports of the serum from Brazil are banned because of the presence of rinderpest and foot-and-mouth disease among cattle in that country
