Abstract

The state's judges, who this year were scheduled to receive their first pay raises in three years, will instead see the money for those raises go to pay court-appointed lawyers -- A state law requires that judges receive a 29 percent pay increase in 1994, plus cost-of-living increases to keep their pay on par with judges in other states
