Abstract

The Legislature is currently considering three different education funding plans, and under two of the plans Portland would stand to receive an extra $47 million in funding -- Under the third plan, which has been endorsed by the Maine School Superintendents Association, the city would receive $33 million more than it received this year, bringing its total state education subsidy to $99 million -- The Portland school budget for next year has been set at $559 million, which anticipates an increase of $24 million in state aid over last year -- Details
