Abstract

The Maine Supreme Judicial Court yesterday denied a request by Central Maine Power Co. (CMP) that the court set aside a ruling by Justice Samuel Collins establishing an annual rent payment to the state for leased public land above Flagstaff Lake. The ruling by Collins increased the rent on the land more than 20 times, to $527,858, and the court found no merit to CMP's argument that Collins used flawed methods in arriving at the figure.
