Abstract

Results of the first of four telephone polls by the Portland Press Herald, conducted in conjunction with the Central Maine Newspapers. The poll consisted of a random sampling of 800 households statewide, of which 542 were classified as likely voters. Democratic gubernatorial candidate Joseph Brennan came out ahead in his race, while U.S. represenative Olympia J. Snowe was leading in the contest for the U.S. Senate. Details.
