Abstract

Independent gubernatorial candidate Angus King is coming under attack from two of his fellow candidates. Republican Susan Collins is attacking from the right, saying King is not taking a firm stand on gun control, abortion, gay rights and taxes, while Democrat Joseph Brennan is attacking from the left by challenging King's environmental credentials. Victoria Murphy, Democratic Party chairwoman, has questioned whether King's wife, a lobbyist for Central Maine Power Co., had anything to do with King's landing a contract with the utility. Details.
