Abstract

The Maine Division of Disease Control reports that the state has 504 total reported cases of AIDS, with 262 of those in Cumberland and York counties. Since 1984, 37 women in Maine have been diagnosed with AIDS, and 11 of them were IV drug users. Last year, 103 new cases of the disease were diagnosed.
