Abstract

An overview of the visit of Dr. Arikana Chihombori-Quao, African Union Ambassador to the U.S., to Maine in September 2019. Discusses Dr. Chihombori-Quao's itinerary in Portland. Shares her comments on the African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA) and her hopes for uniting the African Diaspora worldwide in an effort to support Africa and to combat the lingering effects of colonialism. Also discusses the importance of bringing together African Americans and the African immigrant community.
