Abstract

Brief discussion of a talk by artist Kenny Coles - creator of a series of paintings based on the stories of Saudi dissidents and painted in response to the assassination of journalist Jamal Khashoggi - and activist El Fadel Arbab, a survivor of genocide in Darfur, Sudan. The talk, entitled "Can Art Make a Difference?" took place at Zoot Coffee House in Camden and focused on the importance of art and storytelling in the face of crippling violence and dictatorial regimes.
