Abstract

Portland city manager Robert B. Ganley has authorized spending $5,000 for three portable water pumps for Cliff Island. Portland Fire Chief Joseph Thomas recently said the pumps would be purchased with federal funds that would be freed up later in the year. David Crowley, chief of the volunteer fire department on Cliff, sent an electronic mail message to Ganley about the pumps, and Ganley told Thomas to make the purchase.
