Abstract
"City" piece reporting that Hannaford Bros. Inc. last week instructed all of its Shop 'n Save stores in the Portland area to remove Casco Bay Weekly from the racks. Frank Sherwood of Scarborough complained about CBW, which last week had a special issue on cartoons. Steve Kurth's comic strip, titled "Sex Machine," contained obscenity and nudity, which offended Sherwood and other customers. Mike St. Clair of Hannaford said CBW publisher Seth Sprague would have to make sure future issues of the free weekly weren't offensive if he wanted to continue distributing the paper through Shop 'n Save.
