Abstract
Trustees of the Cumberland County Civic Center have hired an architectural firm to research options for expanding the facility. Trustees would like to add another 2,500 seats to the facility, and to modernize it. Initial estimates of the cost of the expansion and modernization approach $23 million. The Cumberland County Board of Commissioners would have to approve any plans, and one commissioner said constructing a new facility might be wiser than expanding the current one.
