Abstract

"City" piece on the way Maine's Medicaid program handles dental claims for children. Only 80 of the state's 573 licensed dentists accept children with Medicaid coverage. Dentists complain about the low reimbursement rates, time-consuming forms and delayed payments. Pine Tree Legal Assistance says Maine is in violation of federal Medicaid law, and plans to sue unless the Medicaid program is changed.
