Abstract
Daniel Burke, owner of the Portland Sea Dogs, in 1992 offered to renegotiate the ten-year lease on Hadlock Field after five years if the team was a financial success. The offer was not written into the lease, and Portland city manager Robert Ganley has not yet decided whether to seek an increase in the $65,000 rent. Ganley noted that the team has invested in upgrades of the facility, while Portland City Councilor Cheryl Leeman said the Sea Dogs benefit the city economically.
