Abstract
Cumberland County Commissioner Peter Feeney has proposed leading a series of discussions to find a solution to the stalemate over county-subsidized day care. Commissioners Esther Clenott and Gary Plummer say Feeney should have discussed the matter with them before going public with his proposal. County government subsidizes child care for low-income families at nonprofit centers. The commissioners' budget advisory committee has recommended decreasing the allocation for child care.
