Abstract
"City" piece on how well the city of Portland is living up to the standards of the federal 1990 Americans With Disabilities Act. Portland Mayor George N. Campbell Jr. wants the city to join the National Organization on Disability's Community Partnership, an alliance of 4,200 American communities that have committed themselves to becoming more accessible. Campbell says he is working to reallocate money from a variety of sources to fund a barrier removal project in downtown Portland.
