Abstract

Profile of Lisa Nash, one of nine probation officers assigned to cover Cumberland and York counties. As recently as seven years ago, 62 probation officers supervised 6,500 probationers statewide, but cuts during the McKernan adminstration mean that 50 officers now supervise 7,182 clients throughout Maine. Maine's 44 juvenile probation officers average around 60 clients each.
