Abstract

Editorial on last year's elimination of the swim program for students at Reiche and Riverton elementary schools. The program was under the school department, and Superintendent Mary Jane McCalmon said she and Portland city manager RoBert Ganley are looking at creating an afternoon swim program that would be financed outside the school budget.
