Abstract
Feature piece on two churches in Portland: St. Dominic's Church, which has been ordered closed by the bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese in Portland, because its small congregation cannot support the historical structure on State Street; and the South Coast Community Church on Congress Street, formerly the Trinity Baptist Church. Pastor Roger Farrell has presided over a steadily growing congregation there and is looking for land in the suburbs as the site for a new church. Related editorial on St. Dominic's.
