Abstract

"Edge" piece on the manicure business in Portland and the increase in numbers of women who get manicures. The fast and cheap manicures delivered at salons owned by Southeast Asians has occasioned rumors of the use of dental acrylic, which is illegal; but those shops are inspected aggressively, and no local shops have been cited for using methyl methacrylate (MMA).
