Abstract

"Edge" piece on Portland theater company, Out of Cake, whose principals are director Louis Frederick, 30, technical director Jose Ayerve, 23, publicist Natasha Mieszkowski, 26, and business manager Brian Hines, 24. An outgrowth of Moxielab, which Frederick started in 1996, the company will have two performance series, one with informal live presentations and the other to happen in unlikely venues like bars and clubs. The group aims to attract new theatergoers, theater-makers, and theater-funders.
