Abstract

Ben Meiklejohn failed to obtain just 8 of the 300 signatures required to become a candidate for the Portland School Committee, and some of those whose signatures were rejected say they wdsere registered to vote. Assistant city clerk Laurie Savona cautions that those who register to vote at places other than Portland City Hall risk delays of up to five months in having their names added to the voting list.
