Abstract

The Portland West Neighborhood Planning Council has made a $210,000 bid on a building at 251 Danforth Street. It would lease half the ground floor to the police department for the West End's first community policing center and the other half to the Sisters of Mercy as a day-care facility. Portland West would also become the landlord for four apartments on the upper floors, at least two of which would be reserved for low income families.
