Abstract
Portland's Waterfront Task Force is behind schedule on deciding what the city should do with the Bath Iron Works site if BIW decides to vacate the property. Major Thomas Kane created the committee after neighbors and waterfront activists said they'd been excluded from a closed-door plan to develop a hotel and convention center on the site. The task force failed to meet for two months, because of the extended summer vacation of Councilor Karen Geraghty, the chairperson, and it missed its early fall reporting deadline.
