Abstract

"Newsreal" piece on allegations by the Maine Choice Coalition that Maine Medical Center President Don McDowell has agreed to demands by Mercy Hospital that no abortions will be performed at Maine Medical Center, Mercy and Brighton Medical Center if the three hospitals should consolidate. McDowell says that no discussions have been held concerning abortions, and a spokesperson for Mercy said that hospital President Howard Buckley has only said that abortions will not be performed at Mercy.
