Abstract

"City" piece on Portland School Committee member Don Hamill who will not be attending board meetings for the next two to three months because of the demands of his new business. Hamill, who was laid off from the Cole Haan shoe company shortly after he was elected in 1998, has started a consulting company that frequently requires him to travel out of state.
