Abstract
"City" piece on the way money for textbooks is divided up among the city's elementary schools. Portland City Councilor Karen Geraghty doesn't think the division is equitable, and apparently, she's right. With the amount each of Portland's elementary schools has spent on textbooks per pupil over the last three years. The figures drop from a high of $35 per pupil for textbooks used at Presumpscot Elementary, to a low of $12 per pupil at Jack Elementary.
