Abstract

"Politics and Other Mistakes" piece on Joe Ricci, one of the chief backers of an initiative that would give commercial horse-racing tracks the sole franchise to operate video gaming machines. Ricci, the owner of Scarborough Downs, has unsuccessfully run for governor on two occasions. With references to his various addictions and arrests, a summary of the various lawsuits he has filed, and reasons why the Legislature should reject his video gaming proposal.
