Abstract

Deering High School students and others have been kept in the dark about the resignation of art teacher Diane Wiencke. She took part in a school field trip to Rome in March. On March 8 and 9, the Portland School Committee scheduled two closed-door hearings on the her situation. Her resignation was accepted March 15, effective August 31, 2000. Her resignation ended any further investigation.
