Abstract
"City" piece on a state law that allows municipal clerks wide latitude in determining whether a college student is a resident and qualifies to vote. Disparities in the types of evidence required by different municipalities is resulting in unequal access for students trying to register to vote where they attend school. David Lourie, a volunteer lawyer for the Maine Civil Liberties Union, agreed the law is vague, and said it should be simplified.
