Abstract
"City" piece on a plan to renovate the interior of the 22-year-old Portland Public Library (PPL). With a budget of $100,000, administrators hope to add a soundproof young-adult area, an enhanced audio/visual department and maybe even a coffee bar. Sheldon Kaye, the library's director, said two public sessions have been scheduled for Feb. 20, one for teens and another for all citizens, so users can express ideas and participate in the process.
