Abstract
"City" piece on the Portland City Council's Waterfront Master Planning Committee co-chaired by councilors Peter O'Donnell and Karen Geraghty. Bowing to public pressure, the city council has decided that the planning committee should consider new docking sites for the Scotia Prince ferry other than the former Bath Iron Works dry dock on the east end of the harbor, overriding Mayor Cheryl Leeman's attempt to end discussion on alternatives. City waterfront director Jeff Monroe said a study of potential berths will cost up to $50,000.
