Abstract
"City" piece on the Portland Ice Arena. Revenues are dropping at the city-owned facility and taxpayers are being asked to pick up $165,000 in costs next fiscal year. The arena, built in 1984 as a self-sufficient community resource, has been able to cover its expenses until this year's budget. Last year, the arena's income was $470,000, but that figure is expected to decline in 2002 to just $406,000.
