Abstract

"City" piece on Ryan Blethen, 29, who, in September, will begin work as a journalist for the Portland Press Herald, a newspaper owned by the Seattle Times Co., which, in turn, has Ryan's family as its majority stockholders. News of Blethen's employment comes just two weeks after the Press Herald announced it would be laying off 10 percent of its workers, or roughly 60 people.
