Abstract

The State Board of Property Tax Review on July 25 ruled unanimously in favor of the city of South Portland in an appeal case brought by the Guy Gannett Publishing Co. Gannett had claimed that the city overassessed the value of its $13.5 million facility, and wanted taxes on the plant cut by $130,000. The Portland Press Herald, owned by Gannett, had no coverage of the company's appeal.
