Abstract
The renovation of the Edward T. Gignoux federal courthouse in Portland began August 1, and on top of the $9.1 million budgeted for the work the federal government will pay an estimated $1.6 million over the three-year life of the project to lease space in One City Center for judges, marshals and support staff. The government will alos pay $650,000 this year to lease space on Congress Street for the federal bankruptcy court, which lost its space at the Gignoux courthouse by the renovation plans. Details.
